TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FZJ80 | |
What we did so far and WHAT'S COMING NEXT |
We purchased this 1993 FZJ80 as a more modern exploration rig to replace our now classic FJ60 Project affectionately know as Elsie. We started this project off with some very mild changes, better, more effective off-road tires, better shock absorbers, and a roof rack. From there we added some Rotopax fuel and water packs for added distance and raised the now much larger spare tire for additional rear-end clearance. And then we added the ARB 2500 awning to the side of the cruiser for some valuable weather protection while out on our adventures. Next we take the next step in modifying our FZJ80 to make it a better extended exploration rig with the addition of ARB front and rear bumpers and a mild 2" OME lift. To that we installed the newest Warn winch, the ZEON 10-S to give us the added safety that a winch can provide. And of course the protection of the all-important and all-expensive rocker panels with a set of the White Knuckle Off-Road rock sliders. But wait there's more ;-) We continue to modify our FZJ80 to make it a better exploration rig with other acessories including things like an ARB roof rack, ARB awning enclosure, and an ARB 12vt fridge. Then will ARB Air Lockers be needed? We shall see.... |
